Any Wisconsin resident enrolling in a college or vocational/technical school in a course of study leading to a two- or four-year degree in police science, criminal justice, or a law enforcement-related field -- which does not include law school -- is eligible.

The Scholarship Committee determines the number and amount of scholarships to be awarded in a given year.
The recipient must submit proof of his or her enrollment (a copy of the semester tuition invoice marked "paid") in an accredited college or vocational/technical school. After submitted, a check will be mailed directly to the recipient. |

| Requirements: |
In 2026, up to 20 traditional scholarships will be awarded. These $1,000 scholarships will be made available to seniors whose parents or legal guardians are members of Vernon Electric Cooperative. VEC will choose one senior from each of the following schools: Aquinas, Brookwood, Cashton, Central, De Soto, Hillsboro, Kickapoo, La Farge, Luther, Sparta, Viroqua, Westby, Cornerstone Christian Academy, Royal, Wonewoc-Center, Youth Initiative, and At-Large (home schooled or school not listed). After drawing for each of the above schools, all remaining applicant names will be combined and an additional three names will be drawn to receive a $1,000 scholarship.
Qualifications for the scholarship are:
- One of the applicant’s parents or legal guardians must be an active member and in good standing with Vernon Electric Cooperative.
- The application must be completed and received at the Vernon Electric Cooperative headquarters office by 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday, January 21, 2026.
- The recipient must be enrolled full-time and be in good standing at the high school they are attending.
- The recipient must have maintained a 2.0 or better grade point average during their first semester of post-secondary education.

Recipients will be chosen in a random drawing at VEC’s January Board of Director’s Meeting from all the completed and verified applications received for the scholarships. Any student applicant or parent or legal guardian may attend the drawing portion of the Meeting to observe. Students chosen as recipients will be contacted and invited to the Cooperative’s Annual Meeting to accept their certificate.
Disbursement of the scholarship will be made upon receipt of transcript from the student verifying the stipulations listed above. |

| Requirements: |
The purpose of the Vernon Electric Cooperative Line Worker Scholarship is to provide assistance and encourage men and women in the local area to pursue an electrical line worker career. Line workers make up a large percentage of Vernon Electric’s workforce and are an important asset to the cooperative and community. Their primary duty is to construct, maintain, and repair power lines, which is a lifeline to the community and a connection to the local economy.
One $1,000 scholarship will be awarded annually via a random drawing. Anyone who is a high school senior or older and a member of Vernon Electric Cooperative may apply. This is a one time per member award. Scholarship funds are made available from unclaimed capital credits of the Cooperative.
Qualifications for the scholarship are:
- Applicant must be an active member of Vernon Electric Cooperative. If the applicant is a high school senior, their parent or legal guardian must be an active member of the Cooperative.
- The application must be completed and received by the Vernon Electric Cooperative headquarters office by 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday, January 21, 2026.
- The recipient must be enrolled full time in a power line program.

Eligibility:
- Students must be attending at least part time.
- Students must be a first-time freshman.
- Students must be attending a public or private Wisconsin college or university.
- A student must meet one criteria from Group A based on financial need and one criteria from Group B based on nontraditional/ disadvantaged circumstances
- The TIP grant can be renewed for up to ten semesters of enrollment and must be used within six years of enrollment at a public, private, or technical college or university in Wisconsin.
- Funds are awarded on a first-come, first-serve basis.

Funding varies from year to year depending upon the number of continuing students. The Higher Educational Aids Board (HEAB) determines annually the amount of funds awarded for continuing students. HEAB then divides the remaining funds between the WEOP offices and the college financial aid community to award to new freshman. The TIP grant ranges from $600 to $1800 per school year. |

To qualify for a DCF Scholarship award, the applicant must:
- Have been in an out-of-home care (OHC) court ordered (Ch. 48 or 938) placement (kinship, foster home, group home or residential care center) and left OHC at age 18 or older; or
- Have been in an OHC placement on their 16th birthday and gone to court ordered guardianship or adoption from an OHC placement any time after attaining the age of 16.
- Have aged out of OHC placement in another state but become a permanent resident of Wisconsin prior to attending a Wisconsin postsecondary institution.
- Be accepted into an accredited postsecondary institution (i.e., college, vocational or technical program) at the time the application is submitted.
- Be age 20 or less, unless enrolled in a postsecondary program and receiving the DCF Scholarship on his / her 21st birthday, thus extending eligibility to the student’s 23rd birthday. Scholarships may be awarded up to the cost of attendance and may not
